The most important synthetic polyesters are alkyd resins, polyethylene terephthalate, polycarbonates, oligoesteracrylates, polyalkylene glycolmaleinates.
Polyesters are used in the production of paints, films, fibers, organic glass, composite materials, polyester urethanes, as well as various high-strength products.
