Polyolefin Adhesives
UTS Group offers ADMER® adhesives from Mitsui Chemicals. ADMER® Adhesive Resin is a polymer based adhesive that is a modified polyolefin with functional groups. ADMER® provides bonding of polyolefins (PE, PP) to various materials - ionomer (IO), polyamide (PA), ethylene vinyl alcohol (EVOH), polyethylene terephthalate (PET), polycarbonate (PC), polystyrene (PS) and metals such as steel and aluminum, as a result of a thermal reaction.
ADMER®, being an adhesive layer in multilayer structures, makes it possible to combine the required properties of various materials, expanding the functionality of the structure. At the same time, the barrier properties increase, preventing the penetration of gases, water vapors, and foreign odors, which is especially important in the packaging of food products and cosmetics. It also serves as a buffer zone between two materials with different mechanical properties and different flow properties.
ADMER® in the form of granules is used in the production of various multilayer structures in the form of:
- films: packaging for food (meat, cheese, sausages, bread, etc.), medical products, vacuum packaging, etc.
- bottles and other types of packaging made of PA and EVOH, which protect the contents from О2 and foreign odors
- sheets for the production of thermoforming plastic cups (for example, for yoghurts) and boxes;
- tubes for lotions, toothpastes, creams, etc.
