Fiberglass for the production of composite products

Composite materials, depending on their purpose, are obtained by impregnating the reinforcing materials with resin and, as a result of the polymerisation reaction of the resin, a solid reinforced product with desired properties is obtained. In reinforced composite products, fibers mainly provide mechanical properties such as stiffness, strength, and toughness, while a binder provides resistance to operational factors, including fire resistance, resistance to ultraviolet radiation, and aggressive environments. When the materials are compatible, the binder also acts as a means of redistributing the load between the fibers and protects against external factors such as changes in temperature, humidity and corrosion. The choice of reinforcing material depends on the desired properties of the finished product, production technology and choice of binder material.
